About Tezos
Tezos is a liquid proof-of-stake chain best known for upgrading itself through on-chain governance rather than hard forks β dozens of protocol amendments have shipped this way. Its reward model was rebuilt around adaptive issuance, which tunes new supply toward a target participation level instead of paying a fixed rate. The practical consequence for holders is a two-tier choice: delegate and stay liquid at a lower rate, or stake and lock for roughly double.
Tezos transaction fees are a fraction of a cent and stay stable under load; the cost that actually matters to a delegator is the baker's commission, which is taken off the reward rate.
XTZ is a small-cap relative to the majors, so it moves further than BTC in both directions and can be thin during fast selloffs.

Frequently asked questions
οΌDoes XTZ have a maximum supply?
No fixed cap is published for Tezos, which is why no maximum is shown on this page β we leave the figure out rather than invent a denominator. Circulating supply was 1.09 billion XTZ as of 31 July 2026. Without a cap, the number that matters is the net issuance rate: new supply minus anything burned, as a percentage per year.
οΌCan I stake XTZ, and what does it pay?
Yes. Delegate your XTZ to a baker to keep it fully liquid at the lower rate, or stake it to that baker to earn roughly double. Running your own baker is possible but needs a meaningful bond and reliable uptime. Rewards run at roughly 3β5% delegating, roughly 8β11% staking, and adaptive issuance moves both, and the calculator on this page is prefilled with 9% so you can change it to whatever your validator or platform actually quotes. Delegation has no lock at all. Staked XTZ does: an unstake request becomes spendable after 4 cycles, on the order of eleven days, and staked funds β unlike delegated ones β can be slashed if your baker double-bakes or double-attests. Staking is native to the protocol here, so you are not relying on a third party's wrapper.
οΌWhich XTZ calculator should I use?
There are 6 on this page and they answer different questions. Start from what you are actually asking: what a past purchase would be worth now, what a position is worth today, where a leveraged position gets liquidated, or what regular buying would have produced. Each opens with the live XTZ price already filled in, and every calculation runs in your browser β nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored.
οΌWhere does the XTZ price on this page come from?
Live from CoinGecko when you press the price button, with the XTZUSDT pair on Binance as a fallback if that request fails. The request happens in your browser and carries nothing about you; if both fail the calculator keeps working with whatever figure you type in.
