About Aptos
Aptos came out of the wreckage of Meta's Diem project, carrying over the Move language and the BFT consensus design. Move's distinguishing idea is that assets are resources the type system will not let you accidentally copy or delete — a category of bug that has cost other ecosystems a great deal. Block-STM executes transactions optimistically in parallel and re-runs only the ones that actually conflicted, which is where the throughput claims come from.
Aptos fees are a fraction of a cent and the chain sets a low gas floor, so cost is rarely a factor in whether to transact.
APT has faced heavy unlock pressure from its investor and foundation allocations, which has repeatedly capped rallies.
