About Solana
Solana is a high-throughput proof-of-stake chain that combines a proof-of-history clock with parallel transaction execution to produce blocks in well under a second. Staking is unusually accessible: there is no minimum stake and delegation is built into most Solana wallets. Inflation started around 8% and declines on a fixed schedule toward a long-run terminal rate.
Base Solana fees are a fraction of a cent, but during congestion you pay priority fees to get included β budget for them when timing matters.
SOL is a high-beta major: it has repeatedly outperformed and underperformed BTC by wide margins inside the same cycle.

Frequently asked questions
οΌHow many SOL are there?
579.6 million SOL were in circulation as of 31 July 2026, against a maximum of 631.25 million β so 91.8% of everything that will ever exist has already been issued, leaving 51.65 million still to come. The remaining 8.2% still has to reach the market at some point, which is a slow headwind rather than an event.
οΌCan I stake SOL, and what does it pay?
Yes. Delegate SOL to a validator directly from a Solana wallet, or hold a liquid staking token such as mSOL or jitoSOL. Rewards run at roughly 6β8% before validator commission, and the calculator on this page is prefilled with 7% so you can change it to whatever your validator or platform actually quotes. Stake activates and deactivates on epoch boundaries β expect to wait a couple of days at each end, though liquid staking tokens sidestep this. Staking is native to the protocol here, so you are not relying on a third party's wrapper.
οΌWhich SOL calculator should I use?
There are 6 on this page and they answer different questions. Start from what you are actually asking: what a past purchase would be worth now, what a position is worth today, where a leveraged position gets liquidated, or what regular buying would have produced. Each opens with the live SOL price already filled in, and every calculation runs in your browser β nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored.
οΌWhere does the SOL price on this page come from?
Live from CoinGecko when you press the price button, with the SOLUSDT pair on Binance as a fallback if that request fails. The request happens in your browser and carries nothing about you; if both fail the calculator keeps working with whatever figure you type in.
